1/350 IJN Aircraft Carrying Cruiser Mogami

by  Tamiya
Product Description
This item is an injection-plastic ship model kit.   Click here for sizing chart.

The IJN cruiser Mogami was commissioned as a light cruiser in 1935, later converted to a heavy cruiser in 1937, and finally was converted into an aircraft-carrying cruiser after sustaining damage at the Battle of Midway in 1942. After the refit, the Mogami participated in the Battle of the Philippine Sea and the Battle of Leyte Gulf, finally meeting its demise in the Battle of Surigao Strait in 1944, succumbing to a barrage of shells, torpedoes, and bombs, finally being scuttled by another Japanese warship.

Tamiya's all-new tooling of the Mogami is another fantastic addition to the ever-growing fleet of 1/350 IJN subjects available to ship modelers! Measuring a whopping 57.3cm (22 1/2 inches) long when assembled, the kit features flexible ABS plastic parts for the fine masts and antennas that always seem to get broken during assembly. The hull is assembled with screws for a secure and perfect fit (screwdriver included). Includes photo-etched metal detail parts, metal anchor chains, metal propeller shafts, a stand, and a nameplate. Air wing includes 8 Aichi E13A "Jake" and 3 Mitsubishi F1M "Pete" scout aircraft. Can be built as either a full-hull or a waterline model. Stand included for full-hull version. Instructions in Japanese, English, German, and French, with a large full-color painting and marking guide.
