The CV-8 Hornet was commissioned in 1941 as the third Yorktown-class aircraft carrier. In the following year, she launched the Doolittle Raid from the sea near Japan to make the first air raid successful on the Japanese mainland, but in the South Pacific Battle of that year, she was wrecked and sunk.

Includes 16 B-25 Mitchells, 12 F4F wildcats, 12 SBD Dauntless and 12 TBD Devastators (molded in clear plastic). Also comes with photo-etched parts for the crane, funnel cap, deck fence, radar, etc. Additional photo-etched parts included for the flag, flagpole, and ship nameplate. Can be built as a full-hull or waterline model; will be approximately 36cm long when completed. Also includes a clear plastic ocean-surface base for display; paint it as you like!
