The AAV7A1 is an amphibious assault vehicle operated by the U.S. Marine Corps; it was first formalized in 1970 under the name LVTP-7, and changed to AAVP-7 in 1985. It features an amphibious aluminum alloy body, a swivel turret equipped with a 12.7mm machine gun, and the troop room is capable of accommodating 25 fully armed soldiers. The AAVP-7A1 is a refurbished and updated version, with a Cummins four-stroke V8 liquid-cooled turbocharged diesel engine, and a larger capacity. In 1993, EAAK armor, which is bolted in place, was added.
This fully finished display model from Dragon reflects the AAV7A1 that has been operated by the U.S. Marine Corps since 1977, equipped with EAAK external applique armor. The distinctive shape of the hull, turret and hatches are carefully modeled; the chassis is painted with stains on the undercarriage and surface that give it a sense of reality and weight. The EAAK armor is also accurately reproduced. A display case is included to keep it free of dust and fingerprints. Order yours today!
